Living Present In My Chronic Pain Body

Are you someone who has been struggling with chronic pain in your body? If so, I invite you to join Tina Fetten; Foundational Yoga Therapeutics Instructor, in this 2 hour workshop on how to become present in your chronic pain body and techniques to help relieve discomfort. This program will be limited to 8 individuals in a small intimate setting where you will be able to explore breathing techniques, mindfulness and compassion exercises and therapeutic restorative poses. This workshop is for all abilities, to be able to be present and create some level of peace and ease within for just a little while.

*this particular group will need to have the ability to get on the floor for a restorative practice (call if you have any questions or concerns)

Yes, you can do yoga from a chair! Yoga is simply joining movement to breath. In chair yoga, postures are adapted through creative use of a chair as a support. Each class will begin with a meditation, followed by active practice - both seated and standing - based on participant’s needs. The class will end with gentle restorative postures. Connect movement to breath in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment.

With the help of a chair anyone can practice yoga and experience the following benefits
• Increase range of motion
• Build strength and flexibility
• Improve balance and coordination
• Improve circulation
• Improve mobility
• Develop more effective response to stress
• Improve concentration

This class is ideal for everyone wanting to try yoga, including beginners, seniors, those who experience stiffness or pain in a traditional yoga class, those with physical limitations who want to adapt yoga poses to meet their needs, those who spend a lot of time seated in a chair and want to learn to incorporate yoga poses throughout their day, and anyone looking for a kinder, gentler, yoga practice.

This course is designed to answer a calling for a new form of guided pain relief, a place to ask questions try new or unfamiliar techniques with help of gentle hands on assistance.

Explore how to calmly get out of your comfort zone to explore the sharper edge of feeling discomfort. Discomfort can manifest to pain and other ailments if left unaddressed. Leave this workshop with a new perspective on how to address sensory discomfort and the gift that discomfort grants us, growth.

SAHA YOGA's 1st First Friday Chocolate Fest

Stop in to see us at Saha Yoga during the 6th Annual Chocolate Fest. We will be serving up a delightful vegan chocolate option made by the Inked Baker. We are so excited to participate in our first Chocolate Fest as a member of BSBPA!

As part of monthly First Friday Events, The Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association is proud to again present our February family fun event – The 6th Annual Ballston Spa Chocolate Fest! Area restaurants, bakeries, and chocolate chefs from across Saratoga County will showcase their talents throughout our downtown business district. Each chef will prepare small, sample sized, chocolate offerings in up to 3 categories: Dessert (Sweet), Savory, and Chocolate Beverage. These chocolate treats will be judged by a panel of our First Friday Fanatics as well our Visitors in fan favorite competition.

Visitors can pick up a ballot form at any participating business and head to their favorite "Sweet Spot" shops, restaurants, and chefs to sample a $1 chocolate taste. While savoring these chocolate treats, be sure to enjoy the variety of First Friday activities going throughout the Village, including art gallery openings, live music, artist demonstrations, and special promotions and sales just in time for Valentine's Day. Ballot forms can be turned in to any participating business by the end of the evening. Stay tuned during the following week to see if your favorites were winners. Winning chefs will be presented with Trophies to celebrate their chocolate achievements!

We are honored to have Victoria Kazak join the Saha Community in 2019 to share her wealth of knowledge of the human body and how to treat our bodies in a kind and loving way to prevent injury. Victoria is an Integrated Wellness Practitioner and Teacher. Her professional background begins with a degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Vermont. She fell in love with the injury prevention side of Sports Medicine and that love quickly weaved into studying Massage Therapy. That led to her to be a practicing therapist for the last 12 years. During those years she discovered the healing art of practicing yoga and the importance of Ayurvedic Medicine. She continued her studies to complete a 200hr Yoga training and a 600hr Ayurvedic Health Counselor Program. Through Anatomy workshops and Body Care Education Courses she hopes to help anyone seeking a better understanding of their body and ways to practice preventative self treatment.
