Yes, you can do yoga from a chair! Yoga is simply joining movement to breath. In chair yoga, postures are adapted through creative use of a chair as a support. Each class will begin with a meditation, followed by active practice-both seated and standing-based on participant’s needs. The class will end with gentle seated restorative postures. Connect movement to breath in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment.
With the help of a chair anyone can practice yoga and experience the following benefits

This class is ideal for everyone wanting to try yoga, including beginners, seniors, those who experience stiffness or pain in a traditional yoga class, those with physical limitations who want to adapt yoga poses to meet their needs, those who spend a lot of time seated in a chair and want to learn to incorporate yoga poses throughout their day, and anyone looking for a kinder, gentler, yoga practice.
This series is offered twice per week for 6 weeks: Tuesday & Thursday 11:30 am-12:45 pm. Dates are as follows: March 5 & 7, 12 & 14, 19 & 21, 26 & 28, April 2 & 4, 9 & 11.
